Man dies after being struck by train at Largs North while allegedly fleeing scene of robbery
A man has died after being struck by a train while allegedly fleeing the scene of a robbery northwest of Adelaide’s CBD.
The 53-year-old Mansfield Park man was hit on the Strathfield Terrace level crossing at Draper Railway Station in Largs North just before 3pm on Thursday.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries but died a short time later.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.Witnesses told 7NEWS the man had been asking people for money to buy sugar before stealing a packet from a deli nearby. They claim he then punched a shop worker when he was confronted for shoplifting.
He then fled the store, running onto the tracks in front of an approaching train as those nearby screamed for him to get out of the way before he was struck.
Strathfield Terrace was closed between Victoria Road and Military Road while police investigated the incident but has since reopened.
The incident also caused lengthy delays for commuters on the Outer Harbor line, however, services have since resumed.
Officers will prepare a report for the coroner.
