A 57-year-old man has lost his licence and had his car impounded for allegedly driving while five times over the legal limit, then crashing into his home in Adelaide’s north while attempting to park.

South Australia Police were called to Sissman St, Davoren Park at 8.30pm on Saturday when the man allegedly hit a car parked on the street.

They found the man and his car a few doors down at his own address, where he had smashed into his garage and house while attempting to park in the driveway.

He was reported for driving without due care and drink-driving, lost his license and had his car impounded for 28 days.

The 57-year-old will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
