A gunman is on the run and a 29-year-old man is in hospital after an early morning shooting near people camping out for an Olivia Rodrigo concert.

Just before 3am on Friday, emergency services were called to Sydney Olympic Park.

Lines of fans were camping out at the stadium before Rodrigo’s first Sydney show on Friday.

Officers arrived and found the man with a gunshot wound to his arm.

Paramedics treated him at the scene before transporting him to the hospital for further treatment.

Shortly after, police were called to Dalley Street, Lidcombe, where they discovered a car on fire.

“Police believe the incident was targeted and inquiries are continuing to establish if the incidents are linked,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

A crime scene has been established, and the circumstances are being investigated with assistance from specialist forensic police.
