Hot air balloon tangles in power lines during rural NSW crash at Buronga, near the Victorian border
A hot air balloon became tangled in power lines during a crash in rural NSW, near the VIC border, on Sunday morning.
Those on board the balloon were trapped in the basket for some time, but no one was injured.
A multi-agency response to ensure the safety of those on board began in a paddock at Buronga just before 9am.

The basket was already on the ground by the time Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service crews arrived.
“It was tangled in power lines,” A Fire and Rescue spokesperson told 7NEWS.
Because downed power lines send ripples of energy outward through the ground, the balloon passengers remained trapped until Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service could coordinate with the energy provider to switch off power to the area.
“Then, we just walked the passengers out,” the Fire and Rescue spokesperson said.
Paramedics were on standby, but all balloon passengers refused assessment, NSW Ambulance told 7NEWS.com.au.
