But she never made it to court.
Austin, who had been living in Australia for a decade after moving over from the UK, was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital on Saturday night with a severe cut to her arm.
NSW Police confirmed she died on Tuesday night.
Paramedics had rushed to the scene on Randwick St in Randwick to treat the laceration on her arm after a concerned neighbour reportedly heard a loud argument erupt.
A 44-year-old man known to Austin was taken to Maroubra Police Station for questioning, but has since been released.
The Daily Telegraph reported the man was released to a mental health facility and is expected to be formally interviewed by police again when possible.
