Nine lucky Lotto winners have pocketed $2.2 million each in Saturday’s draw, with jackpots shared across five states.

Saturday Lotto draw 4583 on June 21 produced two division one winners each in Tasmania, Victoria, NSW and Western Australia, and one in Queensland.

Each winner is set to receive $2,222,222.23, and some have yet to come forward to claim their prize.

Queensland

Among the winners is a pair of workmates from Brisbane’s Redland who have been buying tickets together for 20 years.

“Thank you very much! It’s life-changing for the both of us,” one of the winners said after finding out the result.

He said the prize was beyond expectation.

“We’ve been working together for 20 years, and we always go halves in a ticket together. We never expected to actually win division one.”

When he called his mate at work to share the news, the disbelief was immediate.

“I called my mate while he was at work, and he checked the ticket on his phone. He didn’t believe it at all! He just kept saying, ‘Are you joking? Is this real?!’ He probably thought it was a prank,” the winner recalled.

“He has since told his wife who didn’t believe the news at all.”

The pair took Monday off and planned to collect the prize together.

“We’ve both been over the moon,” they said.

Now, big plans are already underway for their share of the multi-million-dollar windfall.

One of the men said he would use the money to pay off his mortgage and finally take a well-deserved holiday.

“Not too sure on the destination, but now I’ve got a little bit of spare cash, I can go a lot further!” he said.

His mate also plans to clear his mortgage and support his family.

The winning ticket was purchased at Birkdale News & Lotto, Shop 4, Birkdale Fair Shopping Centre, 196 Birkdale Road, Birkdale.

Victoria

Another lucky winner was a Melbourne man who became emotional upon discovering he’d scored division one.

The Abbotsford dad burst into tears of joy when he was told the life-changing news.

“Hang on a minute. Have I just won $2.2 million?!” he cried.

“Oh my god. You have no idea how much this means to me.

“I’m shaking right now. I can’t see anything through my tears.

“I just feel numb.

“I need a moment just to compose myself.”

He already knew exactly what he’d do with the money.

“The first thing I’m going to do is call my sister and tell her I’m paying off her house,” he said.

The devoted dad added that he plans to use the windfall to improve the lives of his whole family.

Tasmania

Meanwhile, a newsagency in northern Tasmania, Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto, is celebrating after selling not one, but two division one winning tickets in the same draw.

One prize went to a 12-person syndicate dubbed “Full Week Fortune”, whose System 8 QuickPick entry also scored division three 12 times and division four 15 times, boosting their total prize to $2,232,453.13.

Each member of the group will receive $186,040.45.

However, the other winning ticket remains unclaimed, with the ticketholder potentially unaware they’ve won a life-changing sum.

“Our mystery ticketholder is likely oblivious to the fact they’re walking around with $2.2 million in their back pocket,” The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said.

“We’re urging anybody who purchased a TattsLotto ticket from Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto to check their tickets today!”

The store’s owner, Sourav Kumar, said he was thrilled to have sold two division one winners in the same draw.

“We’re very excited! I just came back from Mowbray newsXpress and Lotto after decorating the store with balloons and posters!” he shared.

“We really hope our mystery division one winner checks their ticket and comes forward soon.”

NSW

The hunt for winners is also ongoing in Wagga Wagga, where a newly minted multi-millionaire may still be unaware they’ve just won more than $2.2 million in the lotto.

The mystery ticket was purchased at Turvey Tops Newsagency, Shop 2, Turvey Tops Shopping Centre, 44 Fernleigh Road, Wagga Wagga.

The shop owner said this marks the first time their outlet has sold a division one winning entry in their 11 years of operation.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart urged the region’s latest division one winner to check their ticket and come forward soon.

The winning numbers in draw 4583 were 6, 24, 10, 42, 1 and 30, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 16.
