“And then I found somebody desperate.
“And he said: ‘I need help. Somebody stabbed me.’”
Lawrence provided first aid to the man and alerted emergency services.
Paramedics then assisted the man before taking him to Gosford Hospital.
NSW Police believe the 42-year-old had pulled over on a suburban street to confront two men inside that blue Commodore when they retaliated, assaulting him in the driver’s seat of his car before pulling a knife.
The injured man managed to drive a short distance around the corner, where he found a home with lights on.
“It’s fairly fortunate that he has found that first aid treatment,” NSW Police Acting Crime Manager Evan Davies said.
“And I’d like to thank those residents that did provide that first aid treatment.
“It’s meant that he’s been able to get to Gosford Hospital.”
Officers believe the road rage incident could have stretched for kilometres, starting on the Central Coast Hwy.
The victim is not known to the offenders and is now in a stable condition.
The two men inside the blue Commodore are still wanted by police.
