One lucky Australian will be handing in their notice tomorrow after winning the entire $150 million Powerball prize.

The South Australian resident has also made history, becoming the country’s biggest Lotto winner on record, seizing the mantle from a Sydney nurse who pocketed $107m in 2019.

Nine players — including two in WA — also won big, taking home a whopping $276,036 each.

Thursday’s win comes after seven weeks of no division one winners. The last time the Powerball offered $150 million was January 25.

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she expected up to half of Australian adults to enter the draw.

Before Thursday, six Powerball division one winners had pocketed more than $270 million across Australia so far in 2024.
