A 71-year-old man died when his car hit a Stobie pole in Adelaide’s north.

The crash happened at 10am Thursday on Bellchambers Rd in Penfield.

The man, who was the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene, police said.

“Bellchambers Rd remains closed between Andrews Rd and Stebonheath Rd while Major Crash Investigators examine the circumstances of the crash,” police said.
