Sydney CBD sinkhole: Castlereagh St collapses as emergency services cordon off area

Sydney’s CDB has been thrown into chaos after a sinkhole opened up on Castlereagh Street.

The incident happened during the morning peak commute on one of the city’s busiest streets and is an ongoing concern for NSW emergency services.

Live Traffic NSW is reporting that two of the three southbound lanes are closed and people are being advised to avoid the area.

Castlereagh Street is a heavy thoroughfare for CBD foot traffic and people are also being asked to exercise caution in the area.
