Alby Thompson: Family of 5yo killed after being hit by car in Broome remember his ‘laughter and love’

The devastated family of a five-year-old boy who died after being hit by a four-wheel-drive in Broome say he is being remembered for his “laughter and love filling our hearts and home”.
Alby Thompson died after being struck by a Toyota Landcruiser on Nishioka Way, Bilingurr, about 5.20pm on Thursday.
The young boy was rushed to Broome Regional Hospital where he later died.

“It is with profound sorrow that we share the news of our beloved son, Alby, who tragically lost his life in a road accident,” the statement reads.
“His laughter and love filled our hearts and home.
“We kindly request privacy during this period of mourning as we come to terms with this devastating loss.
“We thank the community for their outpouring of love and support during this heart-wrenching time.”
The 34-year-old driver of the Landcruiser is assisting police with inquiries.
No charges have been laid.
