Paramedics treated another two men for serious injuries and transported them to Royal Perth Hospital, where they remain in a critical condition.
Jayden’s mother, Kama Rukuata, told 7NEWS that her son “loved his family, his mates”.
WA Police Commander Mike Bell described the crash as “carnage”.
It is understood the driver, 22-year-old Zack Heylen, was allegedly travelling 114kmph in a 70km zone, and blew a preliminary breath test reading of 0.095.
He was charged with three counts of manslaughter and two counts of aggravated dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, and was refused bail to appear at Perth Magistrates Court on Sunday.
“The message that I want to say to Zack, as well, is: My son isn’t your burden, he’s my burden,” Kama told 7NEWS.
“There were six people in the car. There were six choices.”
Kama told 7NEWS she hoped the tragedy served as a warning for other motorists — a sentiment shared by Bell.
“We need to seek new ways to get through to people, to get that message through, that driving is a dangerous occupation,” he said.
Loved ones gathered near the crash site to lay flowers and mourn their loss as online tributes began emerging for Jayden.
“You always showed me nothing but a lot of love and respect to me as an uncle, it really shatters me to see you go away too soon,” his uncle Te-Hana Mahauariki wrote on social media.
“My boy, you grew into a man I’m proud of and love with all my heart. Life took you from us way too soon, but I’m so grateful to be your uncle and blessed to have watched you grow,” his uncle Matthew Rukuata wrote on social media.
“Forever with me, my boy.”
Hours before the tragic crash, another fatal crash occurred 90km north, at Neergabby, killing two young Indonesian nationals about 5pm on Saturday.
The 23-year-old female driver, and a 31-year-old female passenger died of critical injuries at the scene, when their Honda Accord travelling north collided head-on with a Jeep Cherokee heading south.
The driver of the Jeep and their four passengers all suffered varying levels of non-life-threatening injuries.
A total of 146 people have died on the state’s roads this year.
Investigations are ongoing for both crashes, and any witnesses, or people with dashcam footage or CCTV, are urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
