Meet the teen supporting US country music superstar Luke Combs on his Australian tour
Just three years ago, Lane Pittman was a high school student with aspirations to be a country music star.
Now, the 18-year-old will be supporting US superstar Luke Combs on his latest tour.
It all came after Pittman performed a cover of Combs’ song Even Though I’m Leaving in his audition on The Voice Australia in 2022.

The Tamworth teenager then supported Combs on his arena tour in 202,3 before being invited back for the singer’s current tour of Australia and New Zealand this month.
He is set to perform in Brisbane this Friday.
Pittman spoke about his musical journey with Sunrise hosts Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington on Thursday.
“There’s so many words to describe how I’m feeling,” he said, admitting he is still starstruck by Combs.
“We played Eden Park in New Zealand on the weekend on this run which was absolutely wild.
“To be invited back ... I found out on the weekend that as soon as our name got brought up to come back, he said to his team it was a no-brainer to bring us back on the tour.
“He’s a nice guy ... he’s so down to earth. We’re all just there to put on the best show for the fans, which I think is what any artist should aim to do.”
Barr asked the young musician: “Do you get nervous when you’re performing, especially for the first time in front of him even though he’s seen your work?”
“Yeah, I’ve been really nervous (but) this tour it’s been fine,” Pittman said.
“I have described it to a few people as putting on a good old pair of boots — they just fit. None of his team has changed. The only thing that’s really changed is where we’re playing.
“It’s the same office, just a different view. We go out there and try to have fun with the time we have.”
Pittman’s latest song, Amen For The Weekend, is storming up the charts, prompting Shirvo to ask: “Country music is absolutely dominating right now. Why? Why is it so mainstream and so popular?”
“I think it’s the international resurgence,” Pittman said.
“ Luke Combs, Zac Bryan who came out last year to do a one-off concert. Country has just become cool.
“You look at Spotify and country music, Australia is the second biggest market for country music in the world, which is absolutely wild.
“The fans down here, we love it.
“I’ve been talking to a lot of the guys we’re on tour with and they’re like ‘Aussie audiences know all our songs word for word — we play these songs in the States and they don’t know them’.”
