A plane full of Australian tourists on their way to Bali have had their holiday plans delayed after it was forced to turn back mid-flight on Monday.

Jetstar Flight JQ125 took off from Adelaide airport at 7.14am but returned to its departure gate at 9.52am after the toilets on board stopped flushing.

It is understood they could not be fixed en route, so Jetstar decided to turn the plane around to allow engineers on the ground in Adelaide to address the issue while passengers were transferred to a replacement plane.

Jetstar could not confirm when the toilets stopped flushing during the flight or how long people had to go without toilet facilities before landing.

The passengers are expected to arrive in Bali’s Denpasar airport around 1.40pm local time.

Bali tourists robbed

Last week, a warning was issued for Bali tourists after an Australian man was robbed of a $23,000 necklace by a man posing as a taxi driver.

The 37-year-old visitor, known by his initials GHK, was on holiday in Legian when, after a night out on September 16, he decided to walk back to his hotel around 2.30am, local time.

According to local media, GHK was walking down Legian Road when a local was stopped by a man posing as a motorbike taxi driver who offered him a cheap lift home.

During the ride the driver reportedly stopped and allegedly pushed the bike over so it landed on GHK, knocking him to the ground.

As GHK struggled to get the bike off him, the local allegedly forcibly removed the gold chain necklace the Aussie was wearing. The driver then pulled the motorcycle up and sped away.

The terrifying incident sparked reminders to foreign tourists about how to spot legitimate taxi services.

Police were also investigating a number of thefts at Canggu villas after several TikTok stars, including Willie Salim — who has more than 57 million followers on TikTok— returned to their rooms to find they had been ransacked.
