A week after Virgin Australia overtook Qantas as Australia’s dominant domestic airline, Qantas is rolling out a new strategy to win back customers.

The flag carrier is kicking off a 7-day sale across 60 destinations in Australia, offering one million discounted seats with fares as low as $109 for travel until the end of the year.

In a statement, the airline announced that, from Monday to Sunday, passengers can redeem 5400 points or pay $109 for a one-way Economy flight, while Business class seats start at 23,500 points or $369 one-way.

More than 35 routes are available with fares starting under $150.

Qantas Domestic CEO Markus Svensson said the major sale would provide customers with more options and better value for their travel this year.

“Today another one million sale fares will become available across our domestic Business and Economy cabins offering customers more choice and more value for their travel this year,” Svensson said.

“And with 60 regional and capital city destinations covered, it’s a fantastic opportunity for those looking to book a weekend getaway, family interstate trip or travelling for business.”

The discounted flights are available for selected travel dates, including from April 29 to June 26, July 22 to September 18, and October 14 to December 10.

The sale includes a range of destinations, from major cities like Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Melbourne, to regional spots like Proserpine, Ballina, Orange, and more.
