Abbey Holmes hits out at online troll questioning her parenting of baby Braxton

AFLW great and Channel 7 star Abbey Holmes has hit out at a social media troll for a personal attack in which he questioned her parenting.
Holmes and her husband, former AFL journeyman Keegan Brooksby, welcomed baby Braxton into the world in June.
Since then, the super mum has returned to work with Seven while still managing to juggle motherhood perfectly.

The insistent keyboard warriors reared their ugly heads again after Monday night’s Brownlow Medal, where Holmes was a star of Channel 7’s broadcast.
Along with the support of Brooksby, the former Adelaide Crows forward had baby Brax with her on the night — and in an adorable matching outfit to boot.
That was clearly unbeknownst to an antagonist commenting on one of her posts from the night.
“Any chance you could spend a minute or two with your baby you self-centred egotist???” someone wrote.
Holmes hit straight back on her Instagram account.

“WTF is wrong with people,” she wrote.
“Little does this person know my baby was two metres away from me. NOT that I owe anyone an explanation.
“To all the morons out there who think it’s OK to comment these things on anyone’s post, let alone a new mum ... shame on you! You know nothing about our lives. Be better x.”
Channel 7 colleague and former footy great Dale Thomas, who has also become a new parent in recent months, came straight to Holmes’s defence.
“It’s been eye-opening seeing comments like this week in, week out-not only to Abs, but to Natasha (his wife) too!” Thomas said.
“I have no idea why nasty people think they have a right to comment negatively and question things they clearly have no real gauge or understanding of.
“We will never beat the trolls, but to fight the good fight, let’s celebrate these incredible women!
“Abbey Holmes, I’m in awe of how you manage to be an incredible mum to Brax — yes Darryl, I’m lucky enough to see it up close! How you continue to dominate work at a ridiculously high level while striving to be better, and still have time to be a wife, friend, and role model!”

Speaking to 7NEWS.com.au last month, Holmes said her decision to come back was largely due to how well Braxton was doing.
“I think that if he didn’t take a bottle or was really unsettled and only slept on me, or whatever it might have been, then I certainly would have been hamstrung and certainly not come back seven weeks after having him,” she said.
Holmes said while most of the comments she received were supportive, a small minority of people felt they had the right to tell her how she should be juggling motherhood and a career.
She said she loves her job and being busy and that there was no reason why the goals of starting a family and chasing a career couldn’t be achieved at the same time.
“I think my work for me, it’s so important. I genuinely love what I do. It doesn’t feel like work in any way shape or form,” Holmes said.
“There’s certainly a small minority of people out there that feel that they have the right to tell you what you should be doing and how things are to be done, which is never the case.”
