New Docker Jaren Carr got an all-time reception from his mates after being snapped up at the AFL Draft.

A pair of new WA-based AFL players sparked two of the best celebration videos of the draft, with friends and family of Dockers father-son pick Jaren Carr and Eagles recruit Tom Gross reacting to the news in style.

Fremantle released footage of Carr - the son of former Freo favourite Matthew - walking in to see his mates, before getting swamped and tackled to the ground in epic scenes.

One friend is heard yelling “Protect him! We can’t let him get injured” as laughter rings out.

Carr could become the first-ever son of an ex-Docker to wear the purple in an AFL game, should he win a race with Shai Bolton - son of Darren - to earn AFL selection next year.

The big celebration followed similar scenes in Victoria as Eagles draftee Tom Gross heard his name called out with Pick 46.

The Eagles brought in four new faces on the second night of the draft, with Gross joining Jobe Shanahan, Lucca Grego and Hamish Davis. Bo Allan joined the club on night one with Pick 16.

Carr followed Charlie Nicholls as Freo recruits to complement first-rounder Murphy Reid.
