The star Channel 7 commentator had them in stitches as Fremantle's 'prancing pony' lit up Optus Stadium.

Star Channel 7 commentator Brian Taylor had his colleagues in stitches and AFL fans applauding during the Optus Stadium clash between Fremantle and Essendon on Thursday night.

BT was in vintage form behind the mic, and his call during a goal celebration from Fremantle forward Patrick Voss was right up there with some his highly entertaining and finest work.

Voss has quickly become a Dockers cult figure after he was delisted by Essendon despite winning a best and fairest with that club’s VFL team.

The 21-year-old had something to prove against his former club, and certainly enjoyed his goal in the final quarter as the Dockers put the Bombers to the sword.

But it is arguable Taylor enjoyed the goal even more than Freo’s emerging star as it gave the master caller the opportunity to deliver a classic commentary moment.

“There he is, Voss,” Taylor began as Voss collected the ball.

“Look at the brutish behaviour of Voss,” Taylor continued as Voss then fended off Essendon’s Andy McGrath and turned to goal.

“He turns around the corner ... gone nuts!

“Throwing fisties, chesties, armies, look at him! Flexing!”

By this stage Taylor had co-commentator Hamish McLachlan in fits of laughter, while AFL legend Nick Riewoldt could be seen in the background with both arms raised, urging Taylor on.

“I’m told he’s affectionately known as the Prancing Pony,” BT continued.

“Well have a look at this behaviour. It is magnificent. The urgency. Get out of the way! This is about me only! And I’m excited about me!”

The epic clip was shared on 7AFL’s social media account and fans all said the same thing about Seven’s veteran star.

“Credit to BT when it’s due ... this is great commentary,” one fan said.

“Great call BT!” said another.

And another: “That commentary had every laughing 😝 😂 😆 Loved the expression on Nick Riewoldt’s face.”

And another: “Would prefer this to a drab voice like most of the robots have.”

The Dockers also saluted Taylor.

“Hahahah, this is next level,” the club said on social media.

Another fan also noted the star-studded line-up Seven had at the Perth game, that also included Kane Cornes and Bec Maddern.

“FOX Footy can’t even get there callers to the games yet Seven send a whole team to fly over plus an extra who isn’t even commentating, just doing pre and post-match coverage,” they said.

During Fremantle’s clash with Collingwood in Round 9, Taylor also had fans applauding with his enthusiastic take on another Voss goal which helped keep Fremantle alive in the game.

“Have a look at this. Oh yeah. This is normal for me ... I’m Patrick Voss, and I’ve got a big chest,” BT said as Voss celebrated.

And fans, again, responded as one.

“I don’t care what anyone says, BT needs to commentate forever,” one fan said on X (formerly Twitter).
