Port Adelaide superstar Jason Horne-Francis is in doubt for the remainder of the AFL season after suffering a foot injury in Sunday’s win over West Coast.

7NEWS reporter Josh Money revealed the young gun suffered a fracture in his foot during the first half of the tense clash against the Eagles.

The injury will likely require surgery in the coming days.

“Horne-Francis sustained an acute fracture in his foot from an incident in Sunday’s game and is likely to require surgery,” the club said in a statement.

The Power said a recovery timeline will become clearer in the coming days, but have already ruled him out of Saturday’s clash against Hawthorn.

Despite the injury, Horne-Francis played out the match and was one of his side’s best with three goals, including two in the final term, and 27 disposals.

Captain Connor Rozee was subbed out with a hand injury and is in doubt for the Hawks clash.

Ryan Burton is also facing time on the sidelines after undergoing an arthroscopy on his knee.

Horne-Francis was involved in a series of heated exchanges with young gun Harley Reid throughout the match.

It all started early on in the final term when Eagles players, including Reid, remonstrated with Horne-Francis after he pushed down on Jack Hutchinson while the wingman was lying on the ground.

West Coast players dragged Horne-Francis off their teammate before Reid came charging in and pushed the Port Adelaide player to the ground.

Minutes later, Reid was penalised for a throw in forward 50, which saw Horne-Francis mock and mimic his rival.

The pair then came face-to-face and shoved each other as Port Adelaide forward Ollie Lord dragged his teammate away.

It’s been reported Reid sledged Horne-Francis about leaving North Melbourne after one year and going “back to mummy”.

Horne-Francis had the last laugh with two last-quarter goals to steer his side to victory.

Reid himself has already been heavily linked to a move back to Victoria despite being contracted until the end of next season.

The young gun also gave away six free kicks in an undisciplined performance.

“He can’t leave now. He’s going to have to at least stay for another year, so that’s good news for Eagles fans,” Channel 7 commentator Kane Cornes said about Reid on SEN.

“The problem for Harley is when you put yourself out there like that and when you are as vocal and in the face of the opposition as that - then you stand alongside Horne-Francis at a forward stoppage and you fall asleep and he makes you look foolish, then you’ve got an issue.

“Or when you are in the face of the opposition and then you cough up an easy throw over your head and Travis Boak kicks a goal at a crucial stage of the game.

“Or when you win a free kick, you play on, you try and do too much and you kick it out on the full. Or when you give away six free kicks and a 50-metre penalty.”
