Matildas stars Mackenzie Arnold and Alanna Kennedy have taken a hilarious dig at their Olympics outfits in a cheeky video posted to TikTok.

Trying on the newest additions to their wardrobes, the pair looked underwhelmed by the polarising pieces which clearly hadn’t been designed for soccer players.

“POV: Olympic gear arrived”, the post was captioned.

The seven-second clip reflected the players’ initial reactions to receiving the green and yellow outfits, which appeared to combine a private schoolgirl’s skirt with a beach volleyball tank top.

Fans of the pair were quick to ridicule the outfits as they mirrored the players’ disapproval.

“That is the ugliest effing skirt I have ever seen.” one person wrote.

“Yes but go where? cottilion? the beach? year 10 formal?” another joked.

Some followers requested the outfits be worn by other members of the team, including a notable member who won’t be making the trip due to a knee injury.

“Sam Kerr escaped this one 😂 I can’t imagine her in these fits 😝 Get well soon Sammy. Go Tillies 👏,” one follower said.

Athlete uniforms for Friday night’s opening ceremony were revealed in April, with the Australian Olympic Team’s green sports blazer designed by Sportscraft to be worn in conjunction with the skirts for women, and beige shorts for men.
