The Princess of Wales’ beautiful post to celebrate Mother’s Day has been marred by commenters who noticed a tiny detail missing in the family photo.

Kate broke her silence for the first since undergoing abdominal surgery in January, posting a photo of herself with her three children to mark Mother’s Day in England.

Thousands of commenters wished Kate well, but many were quick to point out that she was not wearing her wedding or engagement ring.

Followers were left worried, with one commenter typing in all caps: “WHERE’S YOUR RING??!!”.

However, the public should not be too concerned with Kate’s marriage status, as Prince William took the photo.

The princess thanked everyone for their support after she took a step back from public duties on January 16 due to planned abdominal surgery.

She wrote in the caption, “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months.”

“Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.”

The princess’ post comes after she was pictured for the first time since her surgery less than a week ago.

US gossip website TMZ published photos of Kate wearing sunglasses in the passenger seat of a car her mother, Carole Middleton, was driving near Windsor Castle.

The photos were taken shortly before 9am, suggesting the mother and daughter were returning from the school run.
