Two sadistic women who paid to watch monkeys being beaten and tortured were jailed yesterday.

Holly LeGresley, 37, and pet-owning grandmother Adriana Orme, 56, joined online chat groups which encouraged torture of macaques by offenders based in Indonesia.

Both paid a US intermediary known as ‘Torture King’ to commission their twisted fantasies.

Sentencing the women yesterday, Judge James Burbidge KC said what they had done was ‘beyond comprehension.’

The pair, who were both firsttime offenders and did not know each other, faced a maximum sentence of five years each in custody but Judge Burbidge jailed LeGresley – who he said took a leading role in the torture network – for two years and Orme for 15 months.

The judge told them their conduct was ‘depraved, sickening and wicked’.

A BBC investigation in 2022 revealed a chain of participants around the globe who would ‘commission’ people living in Thailand or Indonesia to film monkeys being tortured.

The women were greeted by protesters shouting ‘shame’ as they arrived at Worcester Crown Court. LeGresley, of Kidderminster, admitted uploading images and videos of monkeys being tortured and paying to encourage acts causing unnecessary suffering to an animal.

Orme, of Upton upon Severn, also in Worcestershire, admitted sending one image and 26 videos of monkey torture and admitted encouraging an offence by making a £10 payment – the price of seeing a baby macaque being tortured.
