AFP charge man with threatening violence towards Jewish community on flight from Bali

A man has been charged with allegedly threatening violence against the Jewish community on a flight from Bali, just four days after the Bondi Beach terror attack targeting a Hanukkah celebration.
Australian Federal Police say the 19-year-old from Condell Park made anti-Semitic threats and hand gestures indicating violence towards the alleged victim, who the man knew to be affiliated with the Jewish community.
He was arrested upon arrival at Sydney International Airport and refused bail after being charged with one count of threatening force or violence against members of groups or close associates.

“There is no current or impending threat to the community,” AFP said.
The man is due to appear before NSW Local Bail Division Court 7 on Thursday.
The charges come as the community continues to reel from Sunday’s Bondi massacre where 15 people were allegedly murdered and 40 others injured.
