An alleged drunk driver has had his car impounded after getting himself stuck in a sticky position in the drive-through of a Melbourne KFC.

The man caught the attention of staff members at the fast food chain on Doncaster Rd, Doncaster on Thursday about 9pm when he went the wrong way through the drive-through.

Police were called to the KFC after the 42-year-old man’s Honda sedan became stuck on a kerb.

“It took a lot more than a refresher towel to clean up the mess after the driver allegedly tested positive for alcohol during a roadside breath test,” police said.

The man refused to take part in a further breath test and it was also found that he was driving unlicensed.

He had his car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $913.70 and is expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences.
