An Army soldier died during a parachute training course on Monday, Defence has confirmed.

A soldier died during a parachute training course on Monday, Defence has confirmed.
“Defence can confirm an Australian Army soldier has died during a parachuting training course at the Jervis Bay Airfield on the evening of 11 May 2026,” the ADF said in a statement.
Another Australian Army soldier was injured in the incident in the Jervis Bay Territory, although they didn’t have to go to hospital.

“Defence will provide further updates when possible.”
The parachuting training tragedy comes just two years since another parachuting death in 2024.
