In the clip, which has gained more than three million views in a week, the daughter holds a 3L tin of oil and brings her dad over to tell him that she has “put it in (her car)“, which led to his snap response of “what for?”.

“Well it’s oil,” the woman said.

The Aussie dad promptly replied: “It’s f***ing cooking oil, it’s not engine oil.”

The video creator then tried to justify her actions, telling him that it’s all the same, leading to the comic blow up.

“It’s f***ing totally different, that’s really, like, for cooking,” the Aussie father explained.

“Are you f***ing stupid, oh my f***ing God.”

As the conversation continued, she explained how she had emptied around half the tin into her car — sending her dad into a further spiral of anger.

“Well you’re f***ed now,” he told her.

“You’re a f***ing idiot ... why didn’t you come and ask.”

The daughter remained innocent about the situation throughout the ordeal.

“Well, I thought oil and oil ... it’s better then seed oil,” she told her dad.

“I thought I would get ahead of it ... I’m trying to learn.”

Before she broke the charade, the fathers biggest issue was that it was going to create work for him.

“Now I’m gonna have to service the ****,” he said.

The prank garnered widespread traction, with people flooding the comments section.

“Biblically accurate Aussie dad,” one wrote.

“He’s so real,” the official Australian Spotify account commented.

“If you’re not an Aussie you’ll think her dad was upset. He’s actually pretty calm,” a commentor pointed out.

“The perfect representation of a boomer response from AU+NZ,” another said.
