Companion of the Order of Australia (AC): awarded for achievement of the highest degree in service to Australia or humanity.

Officer of the Order of Australia (AO): awarded for distinguished service of a high degree to Australia or humanity.

Member of the Order of Australia (AM): awarded for service in a particular field of activity or to a group.

Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM): for service worthy of recognition.

Military awards are presented in the Defence Forces:

Distinguished Service Decorations are awarded for outstanding leadership in warlike operations.

Conspicuous Service Decorations are awarded are for outstanding service in non-warlike situations.

Meritorious awards are given to members of services such as the police, fire service ambulance service and emergency services.

This list includes Australians recognised for their contribution in support of Australia’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
