The nervous man then poured his heart out as passengers started to catch on to what was about to take place.

“I met Sam when I was at a pretty dark space in my life and she has been an absolute light in the worst time,” he said.

“She has stuck by me through thick and thin, and she obviously makes me a better person in general.

“And I reckon once you find that you’ve got to hold onto it.”

The camera turns to show a shocked Sam slowly making her way forward to her soon-to-be fiance with a hand over her mouth.

“So if you’ll have me will you marry me?” he said as she reached the front of the plane.

Matt got down on one knee and opened a jewellery box to reveal a stunning silver ring.

His unforgettable gesture was met with a round of applause from the Bali-bound passengers.
