Blue Mountains rescue: Woman seriously injured after 30m rock climbing fall at Sublime Point in Leura
A woman has suffered serious injuries after plunging 30 metres from a sheer cliff face, sparking a dramatic rescue operation.
A major rescue operation is underway in the Blue Mountains after a woman fell about 30 metres from a sheer cliff face.
Emergency crews, including a rescue helicopter and specialist medical team, were called to an area near the Sublime Point walking track at Leura about 11am on Saturday following reports a rock climber had fallen.
The woman, aged in her 30s, had reportedly been climbing the Ben Travado Wall in Blue Mountains National Park when she plunged about 30 metres.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the woman suffered multiple injuries in the fall, including injuries to her head and limbs, as well as abrasions.
NSW Police later confirmed she was reported to be in a serious but stable condition.
A Toll rescue helicopter carrying a medical team was deployed to the scene as emergency crews worked to reach the injured climber.
Paramedics and rescuers were assessing how best to retrieve the woman from the difficult terrain.
The rescue operation remains ongoing.
