Boy, 17, found lying on road at Beenleigh intersection may have been seriously assaulted

A seriously injured boy has been found “lying in the middle of the road” south of Brisbane, sparking a police investigation.

The 17-year-old boy was found on the intersection of Alamein St and Savages Pde in Beenleigh about 11pm on Wednesday “following reports of a male lying in the middle of the road”, police said.

Emergency services determined the boy, who is a local to Beenleigh, had “sustained serious injuries”.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Police believe the boy may have been assaulted.

They have called for anyone with information to come forward, while people with dashcam and CCTV footage of the area have also been asked to contact police.

Investigations continue.
