Brisbane man Oliver Conroy identified after alleged dating app set-up in Kelvin Grove ends with deadly attack by seven teens
Police allege the 27-year-old arrived expecting to meet a woman before he was attacked.
Seven teenagers allegedly lured a man to a fake date before ambushing and killing him in a bid to steal his car.
Police allege Oliver Conroy, 27, travelled to Kelvin Grove in Brisbane’s inner-north about 10.30pm on July 24 after being enticed to a bogus date, before a group of teenagers attacked him and stole his blue BYD Shark 6.

Seven teenagers — five boys aged between 15 and 17 and two girls aged 14 and 15 — were initially charged with a range of offences following the alleged assault and car theft, but the charges were upgraded to murder after Conroy’s death under Queensland’s “adult crime, adult time” laws.
Police allege the group created a fake dating app profile to lead Conroy to Kelvin Grove.
The two girls are the first female juveniles to be charged with murder under the state’s controversial law.
All seven remained in custody after appearing in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
A 17-year-old appeared by videolink while the other six did not appear.
Family members were in court for the emotional hearing, with the parents of the 17-year-old accused seen crying as their son appeared by video link from a youth detention centre, blowing kisses and forming hearts with his hands.
The other six accused did not appear. None applied for bail.
The matters were adjourned until September 1, with DNA applications expected to be heard on Monday.
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and vision from the night of the alleged attack.
Investigators are looking for dashcam and CCTV footage from Kelvin Grove Rd near Musk Ave between 8.10pm and 8.40pm, Victoria Park Rd between 9.30pm and 10.30pm and Barter Ave at Holland Park West between 11.30pm and 11.50pm.
Police are also seeking two potential witnesses who were driving in the area.
One was seen in a dark-coloured SUV travelling along Victoria Park Rd, Blamey St and Musk Ave about 10.15pm.
The other was driving a blue sedan on Carroway St near Victoria Park Rd about 10.16pm.
Holland Park resident Jai Anooch told 7NEWS she heard people dump Conroy’s car outside her home.
“It’s very sad, a young person has lost his life,” she said.
Asked whether Premier David Crisafulli was doing enough, Anooch replied: “No I don’t think so.”
“Should be life sentence all seven of them,” she said.
Another witness, Asif Ikbal, said the death was “really sad”.
“Government really needs to step up,” he said.
