Caroline Springs machete attack: Hunt for 11 teens after brothers ambushed in park over online dispute

A major search is underway after two teen boys were lured to a suburban park and ambushed by a group of 11 other teens following an online dispute.
Police say that on Tuesday 30 December, 2025, two brothers, both aged 15, were lured to a park off Garretty Road, Caroline Springs, where they met a group of teens who attacked them.
It is understood that the parties involved did not personally know each other, with detectives being told the incident sparked from an argument between parties online.

When police arrived, they located the two brothers. One discovered with injuries to his face, the other with “significant slash injuries to his arm and back”. They were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police say the attackers fled the scene.
An investigation has been launched, with police later obtaining CCTV footage which shows at least eight teens arriving near the park before the attack, all exiting a black Ford Ranger ute.
Police say the registration plate on the Ford Ranger are fake.
Police have now released vision of those believed to be involved in the shocking attack, holding hopes that someone may recognise one of the teens from their clothing.
“Those involved are believed to be aged between 15-18, with some perceived to be Asian in appearance,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“Investigators are appealing for anyone who may recognise some of the distinctive pieces of clothing worn by some of the offenders to please come forward.”
