Police are investigating after a crash killed a 29-year-old man on Sunday.

The fatal motorcycle crash occurred around 4am on Sunday in Chelsea.

Emergency services responded to reports of a motorcycle losing control and crashing on Sherwood Road.

The rider, identified as a 29-year-old man from Chelsea, was transported to the hospital where he later died.

A spokesperson from Victoria Police confirmed the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
