A 1-year-old baby is fighting for life in hospital after a horror head-on collision in Deer Park on Friday morning.

The crash occurred around 12.20am when two vehicles collided on Station Road, near Tulloch Street.

All six occupants of one vehicle were transported to the hospital.

A 1-year-old baby girl sustained life-threatening injuries.

A 20-month-old girl and a 10-year-old girl suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Three adults, aged 22, 25, and 27, sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 22-year-old Niddrie man, was uninjured and arrested at the scene.

“The uninjured driver of the second vehicle, a 22-year-old Niddrie man, was arrested at the scene. He is expected to be interviewed in relation to dangerous driving causing serious injury,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
