Food recall: Aldi’s Hillcrest Bubble Bars pulled from shelves after rubber pieces found

Popular snack bars often found in children’s lunchboxes have been stripped from supermarket shelves over fears they could cause illness or injury if consumed.

A popular snack bar often found in children’s lunchboxes has been stripped from shelves at Aldi over fears it could cause illness or injury if consumed.

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand has issued an urgent recall for Hillcrest Bubble bars after rubber pieces were found in the product.

The 132-gram bars are sold at Aldi stores across Australia.

The choc rainbow, birthday cake and choc chip flavours with a best before date of September 8, 2026 have all been recalled.

Consumers have been advised to return the product to place of purchase for a full refund.

“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” a FSANZ statement read.

It comes after a similar recall was issued a month ago for Nestle’s Milo snack bars after black rubber was also found.

Milo Dipped Snack bars 270g Box, 960g Box & 160g Box and MILO Original Snack Bars 210g Box were sold in Aldi, Coles, Woolworths and independent retailers including IGA in NSW, QLD, VIC, TAS, SA, WA and online.

The Milo Dipped Snack Bars and Milo Snack Bars Original involved in the recall had best before dates for end of August 2026. It included batch numbers include: 5316TD15, 5317TD15, 5318TD15, 5321TD15, 5322TD15 and 5323TD15, 5324TD15.
