Hebersham Park stabbing: Police charge man after he allegedly chased public through a park and stabbed one
NSW Police have charged a man following an incident in a park in Hebersham after he allegedly chased and stabbed a man during a football training session.
Officers from Mount Druitt police area command responded to calls on Monday afternoon and found the 24-year-old suspect detained by members of the public.
Witnesses reported that he pursued several individuals before stabbing a man in his 20s, prompting bystanders to disarm and restrain him.

The 24-year-old was arrested and taken to Nepean Hospital in Kingswood under police guard for assessment.
Police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that a knife had been seized and a forensic examination was taking place.
The suspect was released from hospital and taken to Mount Druitt police station, where he was charged with two counts of stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical harm, as well as charges of common assault and causing grievous bodily harm.
The man was refused bail to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court on Tuesday.
