Katherine Central: Woman fighting for life after alleged domestic violence assault at shopping centre
A woman is fighting for her life after a horrific alleged domestic violence assault at a shopping centre in the Northern Territory.
Police were called to Katherine Central shopping centre on Monday following reports of a man allegedly attacking a 49-year-old woman multiple times with an “edged weapon”.
The woman was rushed to Katherine Hospital in critical condition and later flown to Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities have confirmed that the pair are known to each other.
“Investigations are ongoing and police are currently conducting interviews with witnesses,” a police spokesperson said.
