Missing teenager Krishank Karthik has finally been found after he vanished a week ago from his family home.

The 16-year-old left his home in Truganina, west of Melbourne, on Monday morning.

However, he didn’t arrive at his local high school as expected.

When his parents raised the alarm, Suzanne Cory High School revealed had not attended for two weeks.

The revelation prompted an urgent plea to help find him that eventually moved interstate.

Where was Krishank found?

Victoria Police revealed that he was found in Penrith around 1am on Sunday morning.

A spokesman said he had been “reunited with his family”.

The family had travelled to NSW to search for him after he was spotted on CCTV footage in the inner-city suburb of Surry Hills in Sydney.

No further details have been released by police at this stage.

His aunty Mathangi Akhilesh spoke to 7NEWS at the time, saying they had no idea where he’d been going while he was meant to be at school for the previous two weeks.

The family did not know where Krishank had been going when they thought he was at school for two weeks,” she said.

“We’ve spoken to his friends, they have been helping us with the investigation, and nothing, nothing unusual.

“(It’s) very out of character, Krishank is a family-loving kid.

“We haven’t slept since Monday.”

His mother, Shobana Karthik, told 7NEWS earlier in the week that the family was desperate to find him.

“I am just non-stop crying,” she said.

“He knows he’s the world, he’s our world.”
