Little girl dies after being found in car on 30C day in Innisfail, Queensland

A toddler has died after being found unresponsive in a car in Queensland’s north.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said they received a call for a welfare check about 12.57pm on Monday.

They attended a home in Rankin St in Innisfail where they found a little girl unresponsive in a car.

Paramedics treated the toddler, who was in a life-threatening condition, before she was rushed to Innisfail hospital.

Police, however, confirmed the child had died a short time later.

“Investigations are continuing, a report will be prepared for the Coroner,” police said

“Anyone with information is urged to contact police.”

Temperatures in Innisfail reached a maximum of 30C, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
