The jackpot has skyrocketed to $100 million for Thursday night’s Powerball draw, and the nation’s lucky-in-lotto suburbs have been revealed.

Entries for draw 1475 will close at 7.30pm AEST on Thursday, an hour before the lucky numbers will be revealed here.

The game produced 19 division one wins in the last financial year, worth a collective $758 million.

The majority of those Powerball prizes were scooped up in New South Wales, with eight jackpot wins.

Victoria followed with six wins, Queensland with three, and South Australia and Western Australia each took home a single division one prize during the 2024 financial year.

While the South Australian winner might be lonely in their victory, they actually won the biggest individual lottery prize in Australian history.

That $150 million jackpot win surpassed the combined total of all three jackpot prizes taken home in Queensland within the same timeframe.

Across all lottery games, over the same period in Australia, there were 476 division one winning entries worth a total of more than $1.69 billion.

And in the lottery-wide tally Queensland drew with New South Wales at the top of the board.

“If you’ve always thought you lived in a lucky suburb or town, you might be right,” The Lott said on Tuesday.

Luckiest lottery winning suburbs

  • In Queensland, the postcode 4655 for Eli Waters/Urraween sold four division one winning entries.
  • In New South Wales, the postcode 2000 for Sydney CBD sold four division one winning entries.
  • In the ACT, the postcode of 2911 for Mitchell sold the territory’s biggest division one prize.
  • In Victoria, the postcode 3000 for Melbourne sold four division one winning entries.
  • In Tasmania, the postcode 7320 for Burnie sold the Apple Isle’s biggest division one prize.
  • In South Australia, the postcode 5108 for Salisbury sold South Australia’s biggest division one prize.
  • In the top-end, the postcode 0810 for Casuarina delivered the Northern Territory’s biggest division one prize.
  • In Western Australia, the postcode 6054 for Bassendean sold two division one winning entries.

But there were no winners during the last four Powerball games, leaving an impressive prize up for grabs on Thursday.

“While Powerball lightning can strike anywhere and any time, we’ll be curious to see if one of these winning locations live up to their reputation for this $100 million jackpot,” The Lott said.
