Man charged over alleged wild machete road rage attack in Sydney’s north-west

Witnesses have been left shocked after a man allegedly smashed a driver’s car window with a machete in a wild road rage attack in Sydney’s north-west.
A 47-year-old man has been charged after he got out of his car along Glossop Street, St Marys, about 5.10pm Thursday and approached a random driver’s car stopped in traffic, allegedly armed with a blade.
“It will be alleged the man smashed the driver’s side window of the vehicle with a machete,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 46-year-old man, was uninjured in the alleged violent outburst.
Police said witnesses to the aggressive scenes reported the incident to officers shortly afterwards at Nepean Police Area Command.
“It was just so scary,” a woman who recorded footage of the incident told 9News.
“As soon as he was tapping on the window with the machete, I’m like ‘yeah, something’s going to happen’.”
Following inquiries about 3.30pm Friday officers attended a home in Idriess Crescent, Blackett, and arrested a 47-year-old man, police said.
The man was charged with destroying or damaging property, using a knife in a public place to cause a person to fear for their safety, stalking or intimidating to intend fear of physical harm and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Saturday, March 15.
