Man dies in fall from ride-on lawn mower on Tasmanian property
He was riding the zero-turn mower when disaster struck.
A man has died while mowing the lawn on a Tasmanian property on Saturday.
The man in his 70s fell from a zero-turn mower while riding the machine on the property in Kindred in the state’s north, about 3.30pm.
Zero-turn mowers are popular among residents with large, flat yards — unlike regular ride-on mowers, the front wheels turn independently from the back wheels, allowing for tight turning circles and precision cutting around obstacles.

Emergency services declared man dead at the property, Tasmania Police said.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this difficult time,” it said.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
