Marion Bay, Tasmania boating accident: Woman found dead after vessel incident at Marion Narrows
Emergency crews were called after a boat was rocked by waves, leaving one woman dead.

A woman has been found dead following a boating incident off Marion Bay in Tasmania, after a small vessel ran into some difficulty in choppy conditions.
Emergency services were called at 11.45am on Wednesday after a 4.5 metre recreational boat carrying four people encountered trouble about 600 metres offshore at Marion Narrows.
The vessel is believed to have been rocked by the chop of another boat passing, throwing three people into the water.

Two men who were thrown overboard were rescued by a nearby vessel that responded to the call for help.
A third person, a Tasmanian woman believed to be in her 70s, was initially unaccounted for and was later found deceased.
Tasmania Police Commander Jason Elmer said investigations into the incident were ongoing, with a report to be prepared for the coroner.
“This is a tragic outcome for this woman’s family, her friends and her loved ones and our thoughts and condolences go out to them at this time,” Commander Elmer said.
“In acknowledging that this is a terribly difficult time for the family and loved ones of the victim, Police would like to thank those members of the public on nearby vessels who came to the assistance of the group.
“Their actions have helped prevent potential further tragedy.”
The two men thrown into the water were taken to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
