Underworld figure Mick Gatto and a woman have been arrested after detectives executed a search warrant at a property in Melbourne’s south-east as part of an investigation into alleged financial offences.

Underworld figure Mick Gatto and a woman have been arrested after detectives executed a search warrant at a property in Melbourne’s south-east as part of an investigation into alleged financial offences.
Police moved in on Wednesday morning, raiding a home in the suburb of Mount Martha.
Victoria Police said the operation was carried out by detectives from Taskforce Hawk, a unit established to investigate alleged criminal activity linked to the construction industry.

“Two people at the address, a man and a woman both in their 70s, were arrested and are being interviewed by police,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“Further information will be released later today.”
