A desperate search is underway for a woman who failed to return from her hike.
The woman, whose age and identity has not been revealed, went hiking on Tuesday at Mount Remarkable in South Australia.
When she did not return, emergency services were contacted around 9.15pm.

On Wednesday morning, police patrols, mounted operations, and SES volunteers were expected to join the search efforts for the missing woman.
Mount Remarkable is about 250 kilometres north of Adelaide and is known for its ancient peaks and dramatic gorges.
