Muscle Nation issues urgent recall notice for Cookies and Cream flavoured Custard protein bars
A recall alert has been issued for a brand of popular protein bars sold across Australia.
The alert from Food Standards Australia New Zealand on Thursday warned Coles, Woolworths and Amazon customers who had bought 60g packages of Muscle Nation’s Custard Protein Bar Cookies and Cream.
A “presence of undeclared allergen (gluten)“ was discovered on the outer display box despite the packaging reading “gluten free”.

“Any consumers who have a gluten allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed.”
Customers who purchased the protein bars with best before dates of 08/12/26 and 09/12/26 have been urged to “return the product(s) to the place of purchase for a full refund”.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice,” the alert reads.
Common symptoms of gluten allergy include: digestive issues like abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, or constipation, and non-digestive problems such as headaches, fatigue, brain fog, joint pain and skin rashes according to the Cleveland Clinic.
The product has been available for sale at Coles and Woolworth across Australia and online via Amazon.
