Lawton was in her second year of university and on course to become a primary school teacher.
She is being remembered as an accomplished pianist, competitive figure skater and someone who loved to ski and travel.
She had been working two jobs with the NDIS and in hospitality to fund an upcoming trip to Japan.
“Her work ethic was exceptional,” her family said, adding she “loved life and lived every minute she had”.
“She had an amazing future ahead of her.”
Tributes have poured in for Lawton, including from Team SkateFX , which described her as a much-loved figure in the skating community.

Emergency services were called to reports Lawton had fallen from a height at the Rosemont Hotel just after 4am on Sunday.
Sadly she could not be revived.
“As long-term employees of South Australia Police, we have received overwhelming support from our colleagues and the organisation, including acting Commissioner Linda Williams and Superintendent Denise Gray,” Lawton’s family said.
“We wish to thank the police who attended Hindley St on the night, as well as the man who first rendered assistance to Tash.”
