A WA Police officer has pleaded guilty to assaulting his five-week-old daughter.
Nickolas Wayne Peake was charged by child abuse squad detectives on Sunday after his child was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital as a precaution.
The 30-year-old appeared in Midland Magistrates Court on Thursday, where he pleaded guilty to aggravated common assault.

No details of the assault were revealed in court.
Police said that Peake had been stood down from duty.
His lawyer told the court that he was subject to protective bail conditions, which prevented him from seeing his wife and child.
The lawyer said that Peake was living with his parents in South Yunderup but intended to move closer to Midland in order to attend appointments with Department of Child Protection representatives.\
Peake only spoke to confirm his name and to enter a plea.
He did not respond to reporters outside court, where he was joined by an older man.
Peake will be sentenced on October 13.
