North-west Sydney: Man charged over 58yo woman’s alleged kidnapping and murder

Police have charged a man with murder after finding him sitting inside his car in bushland days after a woman was allegedly kidnapped.

A man will face court charged with the kidnapping and murder of a 58-year-old woman.

A man has been charged over the alleged kidnapping and murder of a woman whose body is yet to be found.

Police have been investigating the disappearance of a 58-year-old woman who failed to returned to her home in Sydney’s north-west on Tuesday.

Family members told officers they last heard from her about 4.50pm on Monday, where she told them she was meeting a relative in Winston Hills.

The woman’s car was found in the suburb, about 28km west of Sydney about 9.30am the next day.

Detectives began investigations on Thursday into the woman’s disappearance, before arresting a 33-year-old man about 1.40pm.

He was found sitting in a white Toyota Hilux in bushland along Parnell Fire Trail in Tomerong, south of Nowra.

“The body of the woman has not yet been located. Investigations are ongoing,” police said.

The man was taken to Nowra Police Station, where he was charged with murder and has been refused police bail.

He is due to face bail court on Friday.
