A woman was found unconscious after an alleged domestic violence assault in Alice Springs on Monday night.

She was allegedly assaulted on Todd St, before her alleged attacker fled the scene, about 6.30pm.

The 25-year-old woman “suffered injuries to her head and upper body during the assault, which left her unconscious,” Northern Territory Police said.

She was located by emergency services and taken to Alice Springs Hospital for treatment.

The alleged offender, a 28-year-old man who is known to the victim, was found and arrested without incident.

He was charged with recklessly endangering serious harm and contravention of a domestic violence order.

The 28-year-old remains in police custody and will appear in court at a later date, police said.

Investigations are ongoing, and NT Police have urged anyone with relevant information to contact Crime Stoppers.
